BlackBerry is a line of smartphones developed by BlackBerry Ltd. It provides multi features including web-browsing, e-mail messaging and instant messaging via its famous BBM (BlackBerry Messenger). If you use BlackBerry in a country that bans access to certain websites, you’ll need a way to open blocked sites for BlackBerry.
How to open blocked sites for BlackBerry?
To open blocked sites for BlackBerry, you need to hide your IP address. Because your IP address defines your geographic location on the Internet and this is why you cannot get access to certain websites. But if you hide your IP address, you’ll be able to open blocked sites for BlackBerry. So how is that possible?
The best way to hide your IP address and therefore be able to open blocked sites for BlackBerry is to establish a VPN connection on your BlackBerry. By establishing a VPN connection on BlackBerry, you’ll get a new IP address from another country. When any website sees the new IP, you’ll open blocked sites for BlackBerry.
The problem is older versions of BlackBerry did not support VPN and you needed many steps to configure VPN on BlackBerry but to sum it up here are the steps:
From the Home screen, select Options then Security then Advanced Security
Select Settings then VPN
Open the menu then select New
Select Vendor Type from the menu.
Create a name for the profile created and specify your VPN account’s username and password.
Open the menu then click Save
When the VPN profile is saved, associate it to a saved Wi-Fi profile.
From the Home screen again select Options
Select Networks and Connections then Wi-Fi Network
Select Saved Wi-Fi Networks and Select the preferred Wi-Fi profile from the menu
At the bottom of the Edit Saved Network screen select the VPN profile you just created.
Select Save
Log in using your VPN account’s username and password.
